Jane will always hold a special place in my heart because it was my first real NYC brunch, and New Yorkers know just how important brunch is. It may not be my favorite spot anymore, but it’s consistently tasty. (Be sure to try the strawberry butter they offer with the bread basket!)
What’s in it for you: Egg white omelet with spinach, goat cheese and mixed greens; homemade granola with low-fat yogurt, honey, bananas and dried cranberries; goat cheese sandwich with avocado, sprouts, tomato and cucumber on multigrain bread
What’s in it for them: Salmon scramble with imported Italian mascarpone cheese; classic eggs Benedict; grilled hanger steak and eggs with home fries
I usually love my French toast with lots of berries or bananas on top, but their sweet and simple vanilla bean French toast is an exception. It’s served warm and the filling is soft and gooey:

The Jane burger is another classic menu item that’s a huge hit with a lot of my friends. Here it is half-eaten:

So good we forgot to take a photo first
The only thing I haven’t loved there is the Benedict Johnny, a corn pancake topped with chicken sausage and roasted tomato hollandaise. And a word to the wise: Jane’s full brunch menu is offered only on Sundays. They offer an abbreviated brunch menu on Saturdays, but I hate that it doesn’t have their yummy granola!
Bon appétit!
