Hello, friends! Now that I’m done with the NYC marathon (woo hoo!), I’m back and blogging. It was an amazing experience, but, frankly, I’m excited to get my life back a.k.a. dining out with friends, concocting new recipes and making good on my plan to try more baking.
So post-marathon, I had a nice junk food binge (hey, I earned it, right?), but for my first weekend back in the real, non-runnng world, I obviously had to do a proper brunch!
Today I ventured to an area I rarely hit up for food — the 30s on the west side — far west side — at 9th ave.
My friends and I hit up Highline Cafe, a simple, easy-to-please option that’s like a cozy cross between a diner and a cafe. Think standard brunch options (i.e. pancakes, waffles, omelets) and the surrounding area might not be much to look at, but without a wait, it might make you reconsider.
It was a lazy Sunday so we went for the classics: omelets and chocolate chip pancakes. Highline Cafe doesn’t have a brunch that’ll blow you out of the water, but if you want tasty, cheap breakfast food and if you hate never-ending brunch waits, this is a place worth checking out.
